A longstanding Merseyside-based legal firm today launches its new direct, consumer-facing brand, Your Legal Friend. The firm, previously known to the direct market as Camps Solicitors, has over 30 years' experience and has secured compensation for more than 100,000 clients.
Founded in 1983, the firm has since grown rapidly and is now a leading litigation firm with expert solicitors specialising in personal injury arising from road traffic accidents, workplace accidents and those in public places. Its portfolio also includes clinical negligence services and group litigation legal services.
Colin Billing, Director, commented: “Your Legal Friend is committed to supporting genuine personal injury victims, helping them to navigate the legal system. We are an independent firm that is dedicated to providing access to justice for our clients: we assist them all the way through from enquiry to resolution, helping and supporting them during what is often a very difficult time. Your Legal Friend will demonstrate all the qualities we would expect from our profession - transparency, compassion and independence."
Recent legal reforms led Camps to analyse its core proposition and focus more strongly on the ‘direct to consumer’ market. The Your Legal Friend launch follows extensive consumer and market research to ensure the new brand reflects both what the company stands for and delivers what its customers most value.
Whilst Your Legal Friend has been designed specifically for the direct consumer market, the firm will still trade as Camps Solicitors via its successful channel marketing programme which is promoted through a number of exclusively selected partners.
With perception of the industry at an all time low, Your Legal Friend, supports aspects of the recent legal reforms which will help dismiss the ‘ambulance chasing’ moniker that has plagued many personal injury firms, and specifically claims management companies, in the legal industry. At the same time, Your Legal Friend is dedicated to championing access to justice for genuine claimants and has been proactively lobbying on that front. The firm recently submitted evidence to the Transport Select Committee stressing the importance of protecting access to justice for those genuinely injured in road traffic accidents, subject to independent medical checks and a rigorous claim validation process.
To mark the launch of Your Legal Friend, the firm is this week publishing The British Health Report into the future of the NHS and the rise of clinical negligence claims. The report found that nearly half of doctors (44%) believe that patient care within the NHS will decline in the next five years and staggeringly over a quarter (28%) are very concerned and cannot see a future for the NHS. It also discovered that over a third of patients (35%) feel they have suffered poor care from a medical professional in the past. The report will form part of Your Legal Friend’s ongoing discussion about healthcare standards, which relate to clinical negligence - an important area of business for the firm.
