At Your Legal Friend, we take pride in knowing many of our staff members have been with us for a number of years and continue to show loyalty to the firm whilst progressing along their chosen career path.
Claire has recently achieved 10 years of service with the firm and was presented with a long service award by FRT Manager Linda Henry. Claire joined the firm in 2007 and has been happily working in the First Response Department ever since. When Claire was presented with her award we had a couple of questions for her...
What was your first position and how have you progressed?
I joined the firm in 2007 as a Claims Handler and I have remained within the First Response Department ever since.
Over the years and through a lot of Company & industry change. I have gained a lot of knowledge across the Personal Injury spectrum. I enjoy the diversity of the cases we receive and no two calls are ever the same.
What is your favourite thing about working here?
I genuinely love helping people and get a lot of job satisfaction in my role within FRT. And of course without a doubt, the people I work with. I have made some lifelong friends here at Your Legal Friend.
How has 2020 Legal best supported you during your time here?
In 2014 I became quite ill. The firm supported me with all their well wishes and I was slowly able to come back to work. There wasn’t enough my team or my department could do for me.
I was also able to fulfil a dream of mine and I joined the Army Reserves. Basic training was grueling but with the encouragement of my team and my manager I was able to complete the course and I passed. Being in the Army Reserves at times is very tiring with most training being of a weekend after a full week of work. YLF has taken note of this and I am able to swap my shifts to start later on Mondays – having a much needed lie-in! If it wasn’t for the support of my manager and the firm I would find it very difficult to carry out my ongoing training.
What is your best moment over the 10 years?
I think one of my most best moments here at YLF is when I participated in the charity walk up Mount Snowden with several members of the firm from different departments.
I was really impressed by everyone’s attitude towards the challenge as not everyone had done such a big task before and the fact the climb was for charity spurred us all on.
Being quite active I really enjoyed this event and helping those around me. Not everyone found the climb easy but with grit and determination we all got through it together – some of us even enjoying a cheeky pint at the summit!
What would you say to anyone who is considering joining us?
It offers a lot of great opportunities for those seeking a career in Law - The company's knowledge in this industry is not to be missed! The firm is forever growing and changing in a positive way.
Along with financial incentives, employment benefits and good social and charity events it is a great place to work and to be a part of.
