Congratulations to Laura Morgan on being shortlisted for an industry award

We are delighted to announce that Laura Morgan, Director of Clinical Negligence at Your Legal Friend, has been shortlisted for an award at the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards 2017.

The category Laura has been shortlisted for is Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year.

Laura has been recognised for her high standards of practice, outstanding client care, pro bono work and contribution to the wider legal community.

The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday 29th November 2017 at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester. Good luck Laura!

Experience Profile

Having joined the firm in 2015, Laura Morgan has been responsible for the exponential growth of the Your Legal Friend Medical Negligence team and handles all aspects of claimant medical negligence work.

Laura specialises in claims which have resulted in brain injury to both adults and children; cases where accidents have resulted in fatalities, amputation or serious injury, and she also has specific expertise in cases arising from the mismanagement of paediatric cardiac conditions, where she has achieved a number of large settlements for clients.

Since joining, Laura has been responsible for overseeing the growth of the medical negligence team at Your Legal Friend, ensuring that her 20+ years of experience are brought to bear on all cases, delivering a customer-centred approach which leads to positive outcomes for our clients. During the last three years, under Laura’s leadership, the team has grown from just five people to 30, having increased the number of cases handled by more than 300%. The team’s work has been noticed by market commentators with Chambers and Partners describing them as:

“very responsive and on the ball” and “very good at communicating and are pleasant to deal with”.

Laura is recognised within the legal profession as a leader in the field of medical negligence and serious injury compensation demonstrating particular expertise in acting for children who have suffered brain injury due to mismanaged birth or surgical errors, and in managing claims that have resulted in the death of a loved one. Laura has achieved a number of large settlements including £5.4 million for a 7-year-old and £4 million for an 11-year-old child.

Laura has been a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel since 2005 and accredited as a Senior Litigator in the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) since 2006.
