Your questions... answered

What types of illness could I claim for?

The vast majority of Egypt’s most beautiful resorts are all-inclusive, which means guests’ meals and beverages are included in the cost of their stay. Unfortunately, this also means that if one dish is undercooked, or comes into contact with certain bacteria, everyone in the hotel suffers.

Swimming pools are also a breeding ground for certain bacteria. If they’re not cleaned regularly, all of the hotel’s inhabitants can be affected, with deeply unpleasant and often dangerous illnesses spreading as a result.

In recent years, we’ve pursued Egypt compensation claims for holidaymakers who have experienced serious food poisoning and all of the unpleasant side effects that come with it; vomiting, diarrhoea and even long-term health problems like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

What types of accidents could I claim for?

The ornate, majestic marble lobbies that Egypt is famous for might look wonderful in the holiday brochures, but if they’re left even slightly wet, these slippery floors can cause serious injuries. Many resorts in this region also have beautiful floor tiles, but poor maintenance of these tiles can lead to cracks which, in turn, can lead to trips, slips and falls.

Your Legal Friend can also pursue personal injury compensation claims for those who have been injured as a result of a trip or slip on a wet or broken floor.

What other sorts of Egyptian holiday claims could I make?

There are also many opportunities for accident or injury outside of the resort environment. Egyptian travel operators offer many excursions and trips to the country’s prestigious heritage sites, but the notoriously chaotic traffic in the main cities can result in road traffic accidents while on these coach trips.

Personal injury claims also stretch to injuries sustained at Egyptian airports, whether you’re boarding the plane, retrieving your luggage or being transferred to your hotel.
