Corporate social responsibility
As an established, progressive company, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is important to us. We endeavour to conduct our business in a way that is consistent with our ethos and our values including the way we engage with communities, clients, suppliers and our own people.
Our CSR initiatives focus on charity and pro bono activity, community work, the environment, our people and our suppliers.
We support a range of local, regional and national charities on both a corporate and individual level. Many of our employees provide pro bono work, volunteer for local projects and take part in personal challenges to raise funds for charities. These include Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, The Caledonian Challenge, The Chester Charity Bike Ride Challenge, and many more. The firm also provided funding and support for its headquarters’ local hospital, Arrowe Park.
We have a long history of actively providing help to the local communities whom we serve, and our staff are encouraged to get involved with community organisations. We have built links with several local schools and colleges and regularly take students on for work experience placements to develop their skills further.
We’re fully committed to reducing our own environmental impact both locally and globally. We continually develop ‘green’ initiatives, including investment in digital technology, reduction of paper waste and actively supporting recycling schemes.
CSR awareness shouldn’t just be focused outside the workplace, but should also be fully recognised within the company. By striving to create a healthy working environment and effective health and safety management, we ensure our employees’ wellbeing and engagement.
We always treat our suppliers fairly and invest in nearby businesses to support the local economy, whenever we can. We also encourage suppliers to consider their own corporate social responsibilities.
